7 обширная литература
Обширная литератураIndeed, the voluminous literature on the Stefan and Neumann phase-change problems deals interchangeably with freezing and melting. There is a large body of transient natural convection literature concerned with problems involving vertical elements.Vast amounts of literature have been published dealing with this very practical problem in all areas of hydraulics research. In fact, there exist extensive bodies of literature on film and transpiration cooling considered independently.Русско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > обширная литература

8 фактически
Фактически - in fact; actually (в действительности - часто при противопоставлении); virtually, to all intents and purposes (практически), indeed (более того)In fact, there exist no valid correlations for flow through a porous material having a complex microstructure such as those used for transpiration cooling. There are, in fact, two such plenums - a large one to accommodate larger jet array plates, and a smaller box for the smaller arrays. The method of analysis one chooses has virtually no effect on the third group of iterations.Problems such as pressure sensors being prone to inlet surge damage have been to all intents and purposes designed out.The edge of the upper oscillating plate was not intermittently exposed to atmosphere. Indeed it remained submersed throughout the oscillatory motion.Русско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > фактически

hydroelectric energy
The free renewable source of energy provided by falling water that drives the turbines. Hydropower is the most important of the regenerable energy sources because of its highest efficiency at the energy conversion. There are two types of hydroelectric power plants: a) run-of-river power plants for the use of affluent water; b) storage power plants (power stations with reservoir) where the influx can be regulated with the help of a reservoir. Mostly greater differences in altitudes are being used, like mountain creeks. Power stations with reservoirs are generally marked by barrages with earth fill dam or concrete dams. Though hydropower generally can be called environmentally acceptable, there exist also some problems: a) change of groundwater level and fill up of the river bed with rubble. b) Risk of dam breaks. c) Great demand for land space for the reservoir. d) Diminution, but partly also increase of value of recreation areas. As the hydropowers of the world are limited, the world energy demand however is rising, finally the share of hydropower will decrease. (Source: PORT / PHC / PZ)

20 сыпать соль на рану
( кому)разг., неодобр.rub salt into (in) smb.'s wound (wounds)О моей роли во всей этой истории Женька не говорил. Не потому, что не хотел сыпать соль на рану, а потому, что люди для него чётко делились на хороших и плохих, причём хорошие в худшем случае могли только ошибаться. (Л. Жуховицкий, Остановиться, оглянуться...) — Zhenka did not say anything about my part in the whole affair - not because he did not want to rub salt in the wound, but because for him there exist two quite distinct categories of people, good and bad, and the worst that the former could do was to make mistakes.
